Testing Procedure
- Safety First: Ensure the motor, cable, or circuit under test is completely de-energised and isolated from the mains supply.
- Connect Leads: Plug the insulated test leads into the correct terminals on the megohmmeter and attach the alligator clips securely to the equipment.
- Select Voltage: Turn the rotary dial to select the appropriate test voltage (500V, 1000V, 2500V, or 5000V) based on the equipment's rating.
- Perform Test: Press and hold the 'TEST' button. The high-voltage warning indicator will illuminate. Read the insulation resistance value on the backlit LCD.
- Discharge safely: Release the test button and wait for the device to auto-discharge any residual capacitive voltage before removing the test leads.

Very capable 5000v insulation resistance tester. Does exactly what it says on the tin. My only minor gripe is that it takes 6 AA batteries, so make sure you carry spares if you use it daily.
